Indonesian state-owned company PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) is enhancing its customer service by offering a flight simulator as part of its aircraft sales package, aiming to boost operational efficiency and provide a safer, more effective training environment.
The simulator is designed to enable flight crews to practice high-risk emergency procedures in a secure setting. By doing so, PTDI hopes to save training time and reduce operational costs for its customers, ensuring crews are well-prepared for real-world scenarios.
PTDI has a strong track record in simulator development, beginning in 1994 with the N250 Engineering Flight Simulator. Subsequent projects have included the CN235-220M Operational Flight Trainer for the Royal Malaysian Air Force, the N219 Engineering Flight Simulator, and the H225M Full Flight Simulator used by the Indonesian Air Force.
This latest move reflects the company’s broader commitment to building an integrated training ecosystem. By partnering with global technology firms and collaborating with local industry players such as PT Falah Inovasi Teknologi, PTDI aims to expand its capabilities in training system solutions and fleet management support.
Simulator features are being recommended as optional add-ons for some aircraft contracts, such as the CN235-220, to ensure crew readiness and operational capability. PTDI sees this initiative as part of its strategy to offer adaptable, integrated training solutions that cater to the diverse needs of its customers.
By including the simulator in its sales offering, PTDI is also reinforcing its focus on after-sales support. This approach is designed to deliver not only aircraft, but also long-term value in terms of safety, operational sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
