Qatar Airways Adds Extra Seats and Flights

: Mar 27, 2020 - : 1:26 am

Qatar Airways stepped up its  commitment to getting people home bu adding 10,000 extra seats  to its network. It also started the provision of charter services to Europe and the US from Asia and added an extra flights to Paris, Perth and Dublin from Doha.

The airline has also upgraded its services to Frankfurt, London Heathrow and Perth with the addition of the Airbus A380 on those routes.

“Figures for the last seven days show load factors of over 80 per cent for flights to the UK, France and Germany, with a fall to 36 per cent for outbound services from those countries, illustrating the demand for homeward travel.

“Qatar Airways has flown more than 100,000 passengers home in the last seven days while 72 per cent of passengers carried on 24 March were nationals flying to their country of origin.

“Working with embassies around the world, the airline has operated one-off services from destinations such as Phnom Penh, Denpasar, Manila and Kuala Lumpur to Europe. More than 5,000 passengers were flown home by these services over the last week, a number that is expected to more than triple over the next week.

“Qatar Airways is currently operating flights to 75 destinations*, though this number may reduce as nations introduce tighter restrictions.”

Meanwhile, the airline has recently amended its ‘Travel with Confidence’ and flight disruption policies to give customers even more flexibility. This is available to passengers that have booked or will book flights for travel up to 30 September 2020 (an extension from 30 June 2020).

“Qatar Airways has amended its ‘Travel with Confidence’ and flight disruption policies to give customers even more flexibility. Customers who choose to receive a travel voucher for future use will receive the full unutilized value of their ticket plus an additional 10% of the fare cost as an added value offer. Customers also have the option for a refund back to the form of payment they used when purchasing their tickets – the administration of this refund will take up to 30 days to process. Vouchers for future travel continue to be the most expedient way of helping customers while we manage the backlog.

We hugely appreciate the understanding and patience of our customers during a time of unprecedented call volumes and call centre closures due to government restrictions around the world.”
