The biennial Singapore Airshow is set to reinforce its status as the premier gateway to the Asia-Pacific aerospace market when it returns to the Changi Exhibition Centre from 3 to 8 February 2026. This tenth edition marks a significant milestone in the event’s two-decade history, occurring against a backdrop of rapid regional fleet modernisation and heightening geopolitical significance. Organisers have confirmed an expansive flying programme featuring eight distinct aerial displays, anchored by the long-awaited debut of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) F-35A Lightning II, a move that signals deeper regional defence integration.
The participation of Australia’s premier fifth-generation fighter is a strategic highlight for the 2026 circuit, offering regional stakeholders a first-hand look at the platform's advanced stealth and sensor capabilities in an aerial demonstration. The RAAF F-35A will join a diverse roster of military power, including the return of the Indian Air Force’s Sarang helicopter display team and the Indonesian Air Force’s Jupiter aerobatic team. According to official announcements from Experia and reports from The Straits Times and PR Newswire on 23 January 2026, the event will also feature the People’s Liberation Army Air Force’s Bayi aerobatic team and the Royal Malaysian Air Force’s Sukhoi Su-30MKM, showcasing the multifaceted nature of Asia-Pacific air power.
From an industrial perspective, the Singapore Airshow remains a critical barometer for the health of the Asia-Pacific defence and aerospace sectors. Recent data suggests that the region is one of the world's fastest-growing aviation markets, with major manufacturers like Boeing forecasting a need for nearly 4,885 new aircraft through 2044. The presence of high-end military assets alongside commercial giants like Airbus and COMAC—the latter of which will display its C919 narrow-body airliner—underscores the dual-use importance of the Changi site. For defence contractors, the show provides a vital platform for engaging with the more than 90 countries and 50,000 visitors expected to attend.
Beyond the roar of jet engines, the 2026 edition will introduce several firsts aimed at shaping the future of the industry. For the first time, the event will host a Space Summit, reflecting the increasing intersection of traditional aerospace and satellite technology in regional security architectures. Furthermore, the exhibition will feature dedicated zones for digital aviation and sustainable propulsion. As regional carriers and air forces look toward decarbonisation, the spotlight on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) initiatives will be particularly relevant for attendees navigating new environmental regulations and operational efficiencies.
The trade portion of the show is scheduled for 3 to 6 February 2026, providing a focused environment for B2B networking and government-to-government discussions. Flying displays for trade attendees are slated once daily, typically starting at 12:00pm on the opening day and 11:00am on subsequent trade days. The public Weekend@Airshow on 7 and 8 February will see the frequency of displays increase to twice daily at 11:00am and 3:30pm. With tickets priced at S39 (US$29) for adults and car park labels reaching S218 (US$162) for trade days, the event continues to be a premium venue for showcasing the latest in global aerospace innovation.
