Rafael Bags Naval Systems Order from Southeast Asian Customer

Rafael Advanced Defence Systems has announced a contract award worth approximately $80 million to supply an undisclosed country in Southeast Asia with a comprehensive naval warfare weapons and sensor suite for the nation’s Shaldag Mk V Fast Attack Crafts being built by Israel Shipyards

The specialized portfolio of naval systems utilizes Rafael’s world-renowned latest technological innovation, such as advanced naval missile system using electro-optics seeker, computer vision, Artificial Intelligence and decision-making algorithms, that enables a wide range of tailored capability deployment choices, offering clients pinpoint accuracy, unrivaled flexibility and adaptability in order to best tackle current and future threats as well as to meet their individual requirements and needs”.

Rafael will supply its client with an advanced naval warfare systems suite, which includes a Combat Management System (CMS), Typhoon and Mini-Typhoon Remote Operating Weapon Systems, Naval Spike Missiles, Sea-Com Internal Communication System and BNET Tactical Data Link, as well as other components with full maintenance and support services, with the contract to be completed over the course of three years.

Rafael’s Typhoon Family is in operational use at 16 international navies, who have successfully integrated the systems on board a vast array of naval vessels, from patrol boats and offshore patrol vessels (OPV) to aircraft carriers. Typhoon’s worldwide installed base includes the surface fleet of the U.S. Navy and the Royal Australian Navy.

The Spike ER system is comprised of a lightweight, compact and stabilized turret with 4 missiles on the mount ‒ together with a fire control system for engaging targets at ranges up to 10 km, while Spike NLOS can engage targets at ranges up to 32 km.
