The new long range stand-off air-to-surface missile, launched at the show has been named ‘Rocks’ and the advanced, extended stand-off range air-to-surface missile, can used against high value targets, stationary and re-locatable, even in theatres where the enemy employs effective GPS countermeasures.

The stand-off weapon, uses INS/GPS for midcourse navigation, while homing on to the target is performed by using its EO seeker and advanced image processing algorithms, which ensures hitting targets with great precision, overcoming GPS jamming or denial.

In addition to the new launch, Rafale announced the placement of the first contract with Astra Rafael Comsys Pvt Ltd (ARC), the joint venture between Rafael and India’s Astra Microwave Products Ltd. The purchase order for a complete set of the BNet Software Defined  Radio systems for the IAF, is the result of the 2017 contract inked between Rafael and the IAF for  supply the BNet advanced SDR.
