Israeli defence firm, Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Ltd, will offer a range of well-proven maritime technologies at IMDEX 2019. The company will showcase a 360° multi- layer naval defence solution that will tackle modern threats in littoral and blue water arenas.
This is an especially important development, as modern navies are faced with a multitude of threats that call for quick reaction times against a number of targets that are usually small in size and moving at high speed and call for naval area defence, swarm attack defence and torpedo defence.
To meet the needs of navies in the region, Rafael is offering a number of solutions that can be used as individual systems or be linked with numerous other systems or sensors. These solutions will be on display at IMDEX.
It is also offering comprehensive such as the C-DOME naval area defence system, which has been developed for maritime use from the proven Iron Dome anti-missile system. The PROTECTOR USV is being offered as an unmanned integrated system for security and naval missions and has been receiving increasing interest from operators in the region.
Rafael’s SEWS DV and C-GEM naval Electronic Warfare (EW) defence systems provide high-end operational on-board and off-board EW solutions for complete ship self-defence.
A highly popular offering is the TYPHOON MK-30C stabilized and remotely operated weapon system, which has been procured by a number of countries in the region for use on their maritime vessels for engaging surface and aerial targets.
Sensors such as the TOPLITE MHD, which is a highly stabilized multi-spectral HD sensor, multi-purpose electro-optic ISR and targeting system and the SEA SPOTTER naval infra-red stabilized, stare & track system (naval IRS2T) will be on display.
Torpedo defence is a key aspect of naval war- fare in the region and here, Rafael is showcasing three solutions; SHADE – Comprehensive torpedo defense solution for submarines, ATDS – Torpedo defence solution for surface ships and the TORBUSTER combined soft kill / hard kill torpedo decoy.
