Rheinmetall and Lockheed Martin Team Up for the Fuchs JAGM

Rheinmetall and Lockheed Martin are highlighting the capabilities of the Fuchs Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM), a highly mobile combat vehicle designed to combat a wide range of threats on land and in the air. The technology demonstrator is featured at DSEI 2025.

The Fuchs JAGM is the world's first vehicle equipped with 24 vertically launched AGM-179 Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) or AGM-114L HELLFIRE Longbow guided missiles from Lockheed Martin. In combination with its sensor package, it can detect and engage multiple threats on the battlefield at any time. The Fuchs JAGM is capable of engaging up to 24 battle tanks, as well as air targets in rapid succession without reloading.

JAGM is a multi-sensor missile that can also be fired in ground-to-ground and ground-to-air applications. The missile has a range of up to 16 kilometres and features a tandem shaped charge fragmentation warhead. The JAGM's multimode seeker, which has been proven in numerous flight tests, features an improved semi-active laser sensor (SAL) for precision strikes and a fire-and-forget millimetre wave radar (MMW) for moving targets in all weather conditions.

The JAGM offers improved performance against stationary and moving armoured targets, air defence systems, patrol boats, air targets, artillery guns and launchers, radar installations and C2 nodes, as well as bunkers and other structures in urban and complex terrain. The Fuchs Evolution, the latest version of Rheinmetall's battle-proven and reliable 6x6 armoured transport vehicle, serves as the carrier vehicle for the system.

"By combining the Fuchs, which has proven itself in service from the North Cape to the deserts of the Middle East, with the precision of the JAGM and HELLFIRE, we are setting a new standard for modern guided missile systems on the battlefield," said Dr Björn Bernhard, Head of the Vehicle Systems Division.

"The integration of our JAGM and HELLFIRE missiles into the Fuchs creates a groundbreaking mobile vertical launch system that combines the best of Lockheed Martin's battle-proven capabilities and Rheinmetall's expertise," said Paula Hartley, Vice President & General Manager Tactical Missiles at Lockheed Martin.

More than sixty variants of the Fuchs are in service in over nine countries.
