Robit Technology, the manufacturer of the Azab and Azat family of kamikaze UAVs, is attracting attention at the show.
The company has developed two types of fixed-wing kamikaze UAVs with different payload capacities and ranges, AZAB T-200 and AZAB T-150. Currently, UAV is launched by a catapult, but the company is working to launch them from canisters. As the warhead is installed into a modular bay, different types of munitions can be used.
Azab has a wingspan of 200 cm and a length of 150 cm. The maximum take-off weight is 50 kg. There are two variants, one with an electric engine and the other with a gasoline engine. “The main difference is in endurance and total range, said Mert Ozgehan, R&D Technology and Innovation Engineer. “The gasoline range has a 500 km range while the range of the UAV with the electric engine is 150 km. The total payload with an electric engine is 3 kg, while it is over 10 kg for the gasoline variant.”
The company has been in discussions with many potential clients, both domestically and internationally, said Ozgehan. “We finished working on Azab two years ago while Azat is only a year old. “We have not sold the kamikaze drones yet, but there definitely is a lot of interest.”
It's the company’s first time at the event. “We are an IT and robotics company,” said Ozgehan. “The Middle East is a market with great potential, and we hope to generate interest for our products. Unlike most other companies, we manufacture every part of our drones, including the controller, the launcher system and the UAV itself.”
