Shipboard communications systems from Rohde & Schwarz including NAVICS for on-board communications and SOVERON for external communications displaying the company’s maritime comms prowess are on display.

NAVICS is an integrated communications system (ICS) which controls all shipboard communications which is fully IP-based and interconnects the distributed on-board voice terminals as well as all other subsystems for internal and external communications via a uniform IP network.
It allows for seamless and secure communications between voice terminals, smartphones and on-board/off-board telephony services as well as close integration with the broadcast and alarm system.
Amongst several customers for NAVICS is the UK Royal Navy which will have it fitted on its new Type 26 (T26) frigates.
