The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) kicked-off its 50th anniversary celebrations with the unveil of a commemorative RSAF50-themed F-15SG by Singapore’s President Halimah Yacob, marking the official launch of the RSAF50 celebrations.
Specially designed and painted to commemorate the RSAF’s 50th Anniversary, the F-15SG aircraft has been painted predominantly in blue, symbolising the skies above Singapore. The RSAF50 logo on the top and on the twin tails.
Past and present RSAF roundels are also painted on the tails of the F-15SG to symbolise the growth and transformation of the service since 1968.
The RSAF static display at the show features twice the number of platform on display as compared to past airshows with F-15SG and F-16 fighter aircraft, AH-64s, AS332s, CH-47 and S-70B helicopters followed by Hermes 450 and Heron 1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The RSAF’s C-130 transport aircraft and Gulfstream 550 Airborne Early Warning aircraft are also being displayed in addition to SAM systems and ground-based radar systems.
