Our Bureau - : May 23, 2025 - : 3:49 am

Safran is presenting a range of its latest defence technologies at DSEI Japan, the country's only large-scale, fully integrated defence event. Held biennially and supported by the DSEI Japan Executive Committee, the event serves as a key platform for accessing the Japanese and broader Indo-Pacific defence markets.

At this year’s edition, Safran is showcasing its full suite of Navigation and Timing solutions, including:

  • Inertial Navigation Systems such as Geonyx and Epsilon;
  • Timing and Synchronisation systems like VersaSync;
  • GNSS Simulation platforms including the GSG 8 Gen 2;
  • Customised Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) solutions, such as NAVKITE.

The company is also demonstrating innovations across its electro-optical and soldier systems portfolio. Featured technologies include:

  • ECOTI, an enhanced clip-on thermal imager designed for integration with night vision devices, improving situational awareness in low-light environments;
  • SLAM D, a compact, lightweight acquisition marker designator tailored for dismounted troops;
  • A selection of LAND optronics, representing Safran’s range of ground-based electro-optical systems for surveillance, targeting, and reconnaissance applications;
  • The EUROFLIR 410, a high-performance airborne electro-optical system optimised for missions such as surveillance, target acquisition, and search and rescue. It is designed for integration on helicopters, UAVs, and other aircraft platforms.

Together, these offerings underline Safran’s multi-domain approach to delivering mission-critical capabilities across air, land, and joint force environments.
