Scoot, the budget carrier of Singapore Airlines, has unveiled the launch of direct flight services to Vienna in Austria and Iloilo City in the Philippines. The new routes aim to provide more affordable travel options for passengers.
Direct flights to Vienna will commence on 3 June 2025, with Scoot offering three services per week. The flights will operate on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which can accommodate 329 passengers in two classes. On the other hand, services to Iloilo City will begin on 14 April 2025, initially with a twice-weekly frequency on the 112-seat Embraer E190-E2. This will gradually increase to four times weekly starting June 2025.
Vienna, recognised as the "City of Music," is known for its classical music heritage, including composers such as Mozart and Strauss. The city is celebrated for its grand architecture, rich history, and vibrant artistic culture. Additionally, Vienna’s central European location makes it a prime base for travel across the continent, with neighbouring Bratislava, Budapest, and other major cities within a three-hour drive.
Iloilo City, located in the Philippines, is renowned for its Spanish colonial churches and the Dinagyang Festival, one of the country's largest religious celebrations. The city is a popular destination for those seeking both cultural experiences and a relaxing retreat.
“We remain committed to expanding our network and connecting travellers to new destinations around the world at a great value. As the only airline offering direct flights between Singapore and Vienna, we are thrilled to introduce this new service from June, just in time for the holidays,” said Leslie Thng, Scoot’s CEO. “With the launch of direct flights to Iloilo City, we also hope to inspire our customers to explore more cities within South East Asia and embark on new travel experiences.”
Bookings for the Vienna and Iloilo City flights are now available through Scoot's website, mobile app, and other channels. Economy Class one-way fares start from SGD309 to Vienna and SGD129 to Iloilo City. ScootPlus one-way fares to Vienna begin at SGD659, all inclusive of taxes.
As part of network adjustments, Scoot will suspend services to Berlin and Jinan, with the last flights scheduled for 28 March and 28 February, respectively. Customers with existing bookings will be contacted for rebooking or refund options. Passengers who booked through travel agents or partner airlines should reach out to them for assistance.
The flight schedule for the new routes is as follows (all times are local): For Vienna, Flight TR708 departs from Singapore at 03:00, arriving in Vienna at 10:10 on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, while Flight TR709 departs from Vienna at 11:25 and arrives in Singapore at 04:50 the following day. For Iloilo City, Flight TR374 departs from Singapore at 02:00s and arrives in Iloilo City at 05:35 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, with Flight TR375 departing Iloilo City at 06:10 and arriving in Singapore at 09:45.
