Sentrycs has been awarded a multi-million-dollar contract to provide counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) for a national defence project in Latin America. The project, described as the largest installation of its kind in the region, aims to enhance airspace security across multiple locations.
The initial phase involves deploying the company's C-UAS systems to protect military bases, special operations forces, VIP convoys, and national borders, with a focus on addressing narcotics trafficking and other criminal activities.
"Recent events in Latin America, including heightened defense challenges and increased unauthorized drone use in criminal activities, underscore the pressing need for advanced airspace security," said Jason Moore, Sentrycs’ Chief Revenue Officer. “This milestone contract is a testament to Sentrycs’ ability to deliver unmatched solutions for today’s most pressing drone security challenges. We are proud to play a pivotal role in enhancing national security for this region and look forward to supporting this air defense strategy with our innovative technologies."
Sentrycs was selected following a series of operational tests and trials, where it was evaluated alongside more than a dozen competitors. The company's system was chosen for its ability to operate discreetly, remaining undetectable to third parties. Other factors influencing the decision included support from a local partner and a positive reference from an existing client in the region who has used Sentrycs’ platform for several years.
The project will incorporate fixed, portable, and vehicle-mounted counter-drone systems as part of a layered defence strategy. The vehicle-mounted systems are designed for mobile security operations, including protecting VIP convoys and special forces missions. The solutions integrate Sentrycs’ Cyber over RF technology with an additional jamming layer, as required by the end-user for potential threat escalation scenarios.
Founded in 2017, Sentrycs develops counter-drone technologies designed to detect, track, identify, and, when necessary, mitigate unauthorised drones. The company, which has offices in Israel and the United States, provides solutions for various environments, including airports, borders, prisons, and critical infrastructure sites.
