PT Sentra Surya Ekajaya (PT SSE) is displaying the P2 Tiger 4x4 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) for the first time at the ongoing Defence & Security show. This is the Thailand debut of the P2 Tiger APC, which made its regional debut at Indo Defence in June this year. The P2 Tiger APC represents a significant step forward in the region’s armored vehicle design, combining advanced mobility, enhanced protection, and modular mission adaptability to meet the evolving demands of both military and law enforcement users.
The P2 Tiger was officially unveiled this January and is PT SSE’s most advanced armoured vehicle. It is built on Texelis’ Celeris mobility platform. The 18-ton GVW vehicle will be manufactured at PT SSE’s plant in Tangerang. The Indonesian firm carried out the full assembly of all components, with support from Texelis for the integration of the mobility platform. PT SSE undertook the integration of all tactical and combat systems aboard.
The P2 Tiger 4x4 APC was developed to meet Indonesian Army requirements. In its current APC configuration, the P2 Tiger can carry a team of eight soldiers plus two crew members. Built on the Celeris mobility platform from Texelis, the P2 Tiger benefits from Texelis’ experience working on the French Army’s Serval 4x4 APC, Celeris.
The APC is powered by a turbodiesel engine capable of delivering a top speed of over 120 km/h and an operational range of approximately 450 kilometers. Its independent suspension and reinforced chassis provide high off-road maneuverability, allowing effective deployment in diverse operational environments — from rugged terrain to dense urban areas. All elements have been designed and adapted according to PT SSE’s specifications to perfectly match their vehicle design. Its maximum GVW is 18 tonnes, with a base weight of 14 tonnes. Two P2 Tigers can be carried on a single A400M tactical transport.
The P2 Tiger is being offered to customers for applications, including troop transport, command and control, reconnaissance, medical evacuation, and internal security missions. Designed to carry up to 10 personnel, including driver and commander, the APC features STANAG Level 2 ballistic protection with optional add-on armor kits for higher threat levels. Its all-welded monocoque hull ensures resistance to small arms fire and shrapnel, while the cabin layout emphasizes ergonomic seating, improved visibility, and rapid troop deployment through wide rear doors. It supports remote-controlled weapon stations (RCWS) or manually operated 7.62mm / 12.7mm machine guns, depending on mission requirements.
