SIA Engineering Group (SIAEC) reported continued growth in demand for its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services in the first quarter of FY2025-26. The company saw a 3.5% year-on-year increase in flight volumes handled in Singapore within its Line Maintenance network.
Base Maintenance activities in Singapore remained steady, while the Group continued developing its new facility in Malaysia. The first of two hangars in Subang is expected to begin operations by the end of 2025. In Cambodia, a new line maintenance joint venture is scheduled to commence operations in the second half of 2025.
SIAEC noted that start-up and development-related spending would continue as it expands capacity and capabilities to meet growing market demand.
During the quarter, SIAEC renewed Comprehensive Services Agreements with Singapore Airlines and Scoot, effective 1 April 2025. Valued at approximately $1.3 billion, the two-year agreements include an option for a one-year extension. In addition, JADE Engineering, a 55%-owned subsidiary, secured a cabin retrofit contract for Boeing 777 aircraft.
The company also expanded implementation of its Enterprise Operating System across more business units, alongside ongoing integration of digital tools aimed at improving productivity and efficiency.
Outlook
SIAEC expects demand for MRO services to remain strong, supported by sustained growth in passenger traffic across the Asia-Pacific region. However, the company highlighted continued risks from global economic uncertainties, including geopolitical developments, trade policies, and supply chain disruptions.
The Group stated it remains committed to its strategic goals of expanding its regional presence, increasing capabilities for next-generation aircraft, and strengthening its core services.
Financial Performance
Group revenue rose 33.4% year-on-year to $358.4 million for the quarter ending 30 June 2025. Operating expenditure increased by 32.0% to $353.3 million, mainly due to higher costs for materials and manpower. As a result, operating profit improved by $4.1 million year-on-year to $5.1 million.
The Group’s share of profit from associated and joint venture companies reached $37.8 million, up $9.8 million (+35.0%) from the previous year. This was driven primarily by contributions from the Engine and Component segment ($9.5 million) and the Airframe and Line Maintenance segment ($0.3 million).
Net profit after tax for the quarter was $42.9 million, an increase of $9.7 million (+29.2%) year-on-year.
As of 30 June 2025, equity attributable to shareholders stood at $1,726.1 million, up $5.7 million (+0.3%) from 31 March 2025. Total assets rose slightly by $6.3 million (+0.3%) over the same period to $2,147.7 million.
