SIG SAUER Advanced Defense Systems is highlighting its family of lightweight, AI-enabled remote-controlled weapon stations (RCWS) at Eurosatory 2026, technologies designed for manned and unmanned operations across land, air and maritime domains.
The company said its display features the combat-proven UltraLight RCWS, the airborne-configured MicroLight RCWS and the Ranger Remote Control Unit (RCU), demonstrating a modular approach to remote firepower for distributed and multi-domain operations.
At the center of the exhibit is the latest version of the UltraLight RCWS, integrated with SIG SAUER's medium machine gun and Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) family. The company described the system as a lightweight remote weapon platform capable of supporting a range of combat missions.

According to SIG SAUER, the system incorporates artificial intelligence-assisted cueing technology that can track multiple targets simultaneously in day and night conditions. The software is designed to prioritize threats and reduce operator workload, although human operators retain control over target identification and engagement decisions.
The company is also displaying the MicroLight RCWS, a lightweight weapon station configured for unmanned aerial platforms. SIG SAUER said the system combines a stabilized light machine gun with drone technology to provide controlled airborne firepower while maintaining flight stability.
Also on display is the Ranger RCU, a remote-control interface designed to operate weapon systems through wired or wireless communications. The unit supports features such as Multiple Point and Shoot and Automatic Target Recognition, which uses computer vision software to detect, classify and track potential threats, including personnel, vehicles, vessels and low-flying drones.
SIG SAUER said the systems reflect growing demand for lightweight remote firepower in modern combat environments, where militaries are increasingly employing unmanned systems, mobile forces and distributed operations. The technologies are designed for use on armored vehicles, unmanned ground systems, maritime security platforms, remote firing positions and aerial platforms.
