SRC, Inc. has announced the first deployment of its Gryphon R1410 radar system in Japan, in collaboration with Nippon Kaiyo Co., Ltd. The radar has recently received certification from Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, marking it as the first counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) radar to be officially approved in the country.
Tatsuo Yamashita, president of Nippon Kaiyo Co., Ltd., stated, “Nippon Kaiyo Co., Ltd. is proud to partner with SRC to provide the Gryphon R1410 system to Japan. It has now been successfully implemented in a facility designated as important for securing national security in Japanese law. This achievement will be crucial in strengthening the structure of national security, particularly for C-UAS. We extend our sincere gratitude to SRC for their invaluable support in making this project a reality.”
The Gryphon R1410 is a 3-D active electronically scanned array radar designed for air surveillance with multi-mission capabilities. It is specifically built to detect small, low-altitude targets within a 10-kilometer range. The radar is adaptable, with a compact size, low weight, and low power requirements, making it suitable for both permanent and mobile installations in all weather conditions.
Kevin Hair, president and CEO of SRC, Inc., said, “We are proud to partner with Nippon Kaiyo to bring our Gryphon R1410 system to Japan. This deployment underscores our dedication to delivering innovative solutions for our global partners and ensuring the safety of warfighters and security personnel worldwide.”
The Gryphon R1410 features customizable data output options for various applications and is designed for rapid deployment, requiring only minutes for setup. It also includes intuitive interface software for easy configuration, offering a versatile and reliable solution for multiple mission requirements.
SRC, Inc. is involved in the development of advanced counter-unmanned aircraft systems technology, with systems deployed in the U.S. and internationally for use in combat environments and critical infrastructure protection.
