Two CFM56-7B engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) contracts have been bagged by ST Engineering Group.

The work will be done at the Group’s engine MRO facilities in Singapore and in Xiamen, China.

“ST Engineering takes pride in providing strong support to its customers and fulfilling its value proposition with flexible solutions that are customised to evolving needs. In return, many customers continuously place their trust in what we have to offer, which allows us to see them through their growth in good as well as challenging times,” said Jeffrey Lam, President of Commercial Aerospace, ST Engineering.

As part of capability expansion, the Group is currently developing capabilities to provide MRO support for LEAP-1B engines, starting with quickturn service at the end of this year.

Alaska Airlines has inked an exclusive five-year contract with ST Engineering, starting from 2022. The contract is an extension of an existing one that expires at the end of this year.

ST Engineering will provide engine heavy maintenance to the airline’s fleet of 14 Boeing 737-700 and 12 Boeing 737-900 aircraft. These services will be provided at the Group’s engine MRO facilities in Singapore.

The second contract is also for engine heavy maintenance services, which is awarded by an Asian airline.

ST Engineering will service CFM56-7B engines that will be redelivered over a 12-month period from mid-2022 to mid-2023.

These services will be provided at the Group’s engine MRO facilities in Xiamen, China.

ST Engineering’s global network of aerospace facilities includes engine MRO facilities in Singapore and Xiamen, China, which have a combined annual capacity of over 450 engines to provide operators total engine support with flexible scheduling.

The Group has delivered more than 10,000 engines and overhauled more than 1,500 CFM56 engines since 1999.
