Turkish defence company STM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Qatar-based Barzan Holdings to collaborate on the joint production and development of unmanned systems, strengthening Qatar’s indigenous defence technology capabilities. The MoU was formalised during a signing ceremony at the ongoing show. The cooperation aims to enable the local production and integration of STM’s tactical UAV systems in Qatar, alongside the development of future unmanned capabilities. Commenting on the agreement, Özgür Güleryüz, General Manager of STM, said the MoU represents a strategic step in deepening defence industry cooperation between Türkiye and Qatar, emphasising the importance of joint production models and sustainable defence ecosystems.

STM and Barzan Holdings will explore joint production and co-development models, under the agreement. The initial focus will be on unmanned aerial systems, while also assessing opportunities related to unmanned naval platforms. STM will provide engineering, systems development and technology integration support as a development partner to Barzan Holdings. The companies say this approach is intended to contribute to the growth of Qatar’s defence technology ecosystem and support long-term capability development.
