Supernal, Hyundai Motor Group’s Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) company, will sign partnerships with leading aerospace suppliers GKN Aerospace, Qarbon Aerospace and UMBRAGROUP at the upcoming show.
The collaborations underscore Supernal’s long-term strategy to work with the right people, at the right times, to leverage both new and evolving technologies that will help AAM scale and ultimately reach the general public.
Supernal Chief Commercial Officer Adam Slepian will join a panel with fellow AAM experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities involved in developing viable infrastructure. In addition, the company will sponsor the inaugural “Best AAM Submission” at the 2023 Aerospace Media Awards dinner, recognizing journalists’ contributions to aerospace media coverage.
Supernal is developing an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle and a ground-to-air ecosystem to support the emerging industry. After unveiling its eVTOL Vehicle Cabin Concept at 2022 Farnborough International Airshow, the company has signed partnership agreements with a number of companies as part of its aircraft production strategy. One of them was at the show itself, when it signed an agreement with Electric Power Systems, Inc. (EP Systems) to accelerate development and production of safe, lighter-weight and certifiable eVTOL vehicle batteries.
In October last year, Supernal and Honeywell announced they would explore the integration of the Honeywell Anthem integrated flight deck into Supernal’s eVTOL vehicle. The same month, BAE Systems and Supernal said they would design and develop the flight control computer for the eVTOL vehicle. In December, Supernal announced a collaboration with Microsoft to advance autonomy, digital operations and cloud integration technologies for the aviation industry by running Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) on the Microsoft cloud platform.
