Petlas, sole indigenous tyre manufacturer in Turkey, is showcasing its products for military aircraft and land vehicles at the ongoing SAHA Expo.
On display are RM900 Plus, RM910, Explero PT425, Explero PT451 tyres developed as a special project for the military industry, as well as Bayraktar Akıncı, Bayraktar TB2, TAI Hürkuş and Milli Warplane tyres.
“We produce high-quality tyres for the needs of military units and security forces. We provide tyre development for strategic projects in the field of defence industry and aviation. Petlas tyres are used in Hürkuş, Hürjet, Anka, Anka S, Aksungur, Bayraktar TB2 and TB3, Akıncı and the new unmanned fighter aircraft Bayraktar Kızıelma projects. It is also the preferred tyre for the latest national fighter aircraft developed with national technology, Kaan,” Osman Ozgun, Public Sales and Tender Sales Representative with Petlas said.
Kaan, which uses Petlas' tires, was awarded the National Accreditation Certificate by the Tyre Testing Laboratory and the Turkish Accreditation Institution (Turkak), which has the ability to test aircraft tyres in many international test methods, and received full marks with its first flight, he added.
“In our largest tire factory in Europe under one roof, both in terms of square meters and product variety, we have 80 different designs and more than 2,500 sizes for almost all types of vehicles, from passenger cars to trucks, from buses to racing vehicles and from tractors to construction machines, not only with our military tyres. We produce high-quality tyres. At the moment, we are in the position of the tyre manufacturer that exports the most tyres from Turkey," he claimed.
