Indonesian carrier PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri has increased the frequency of its Jakarta–Singapore route to twice daily, effective today, as part of efforts to strengthen its international network.
The move comes shortly after TransNusa launched a new service from Bali to Perth, Australia, marking another step in the airline’s regional expansion.
According to TransNusa Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Bernard Francis, the additional Jakarta–Singapore flight reflects the company’s commitment to expanding connectivity in the region. “TransNusa has plans to further strengthen its network connectivity this year,” he said.
The new daily flight, operating under flight number 8B 153, departs Soekarno–Hatta International Airport at 12:10 and arrives at Singapore Changi Airport at 14:40. The return leg, flight 8B 154, leaves Changi at 15:30 and lands in Jakarta at 16:20.
TransNusa will continue to operate its existing service on the route. Flight 8B 151 departs Jakarta at 07:55 and arrives in Singapore at 10:45, while flight 8B 152 returns from Changi at 11:45, arriving in Jakarta at 12:30.
Since introducing its first international service in April 2023, the airline has broadened its reach across Southeast Asia and into the wider Asia-Pacific region. Datuk Bernard credits this progress to a tailored business model and the experience of its leadership team.
In addition to increasing frequencies, the airline is offering tiered service bundles under the SEAT, SEAT-PLUS, and FLEXI-PRO categories. These include varying allowances for checked baggage—ranging from 20 kg to 30 kg depending on the package—as well as in-flight meals, seat selection, and flexible ticketing options.
“For the highest package, FLEXI-PRO, we provide more complete services such as free baggage of 30 kg, free seat selection, meals and drinks, priority check-in and boarding, and flexible changes or refunds,” Datuk Bernard said.
TransNusa’s Airbus A320 aircraft are configured with 174 seats, offering approximately 30 inches of legroom to provide a travel experience comparable to that of full-service airlines.
The airline continues to position itself as a low-cost carrier offering competitive fares with premium services. One-way ticket prices on the Jakarta–Singapore route start from SGD 52 (USD 40), according to the company.
