TransNusa has officially commenced scheduled flights between Bali and Guangzhou, becoming the first Indonesian airline to operate this route. The inaugural flight, 8B 969, departed from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on 13 April at 20:15 and arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 01:00 on 14 April.
The launch follows the airline’s introduction of scheduled services between Bali and Perth, which began on 20 March.
“This move, being a strategic triumph for the airline,” said TransNusa Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Bernard Francis, “was launched weeks after the launch of the airline’s new scheduled Bali-Perth route on March 20.”
Since its relaunch in 2022 as a Premium Service Carrier, TransNusa has focused on expanding its network to meet customer demand.
“Our main priority and focus is to create new exciting routes for our passengers and offer seamless and fast travels, whether through direct routes or transits routes,” said Datuk Francis.
TransNusa is offering promotional fares for the Bali–Guangzhou route, starting from IDR 2,388,000, CNY 999, or USD 149. Tickets are available through the airline’s website (transnusa.co.id) and other major online travel platforms.
During the initial phase from 13 April to 31 May, flights will operate four times per week. Flight 8B 969 departs Bali at 20:15 every Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, arriving in Guangzhou at 01:00. The return flight, 8B 968, leaves Guangzhou at 02:05 every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, arriving in Bali at 07:40.
The route is served by TransNusa’s 174-seat Airbus A320 narrow-body aircraft. Daily flights are planned to commence from 1 June.
“With the launch of this new route, we hope to provide tourists from China additional options to travel to the Island of Gods, Bali,” Datuk Francis said. He added that the airline also aims to connect travellers to other Indonesian destinations such as Manado, known for its diving spots.
Based at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, TransNusa currently operates domestic and international routes from Jakarta to Yogyakarta, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Subang, and Guangzhou. It also flies from Bali to Jakarta and Manado. Scheduled services between Bali and Perth began on 20 March, while Bali–Guangzhou flights commenced on 13 April.
