Turkey’s Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler marked his attendance at the ongoing show with visits to the stands of defence industry firms participating at the exhibition. He also held meetings with the Defence Ministers of Tajikistan, Senegal, Kenya and Gabon.
Güler stated that he was very pleased with the strong interest in the show.
Describing IDEF, which is run by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, as an important platform to strengthen cooperation with representatives operating in the defense industry ecosystem, Güler said, “In the 16th IDEF, which was held this year, a record was broken in terms of the participation of both domestic and foreign participants and foreign delegations.”
He added that the situation was also an indication of the interest shown to Turkey’s defence industry.
Güler met with the Minister of Defence of Tajikistan, General Şerali Mirzo, and attended the signing ceremony of a Military and Financial Cooperation Agreement and Cash Aid Implementation Protocol Signed with Tajikistan.
Güler had his first meeting with the Senegalese Defence Minister Sidika Kaba on the second day of the show. He then met separately with Kenyan Defence Minister Aden Bare Duale and Gabon Defence Minister Ongouori Ngoubili.
