The first GlobalEye Swing Role Surveillance System aircraft has been delivered by Saab to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).  “The delivery of the first GlobalEye is a major milestone for Saab, but also an important step in the history of airborne early warning and control. We have set a new standard for the market and I am proud to say that we have delivered the most advanced airborne surveillance solution in the world to the United Arab Emirates”, says Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.

The original development and production contract for GlobalEye was awarded to Saab at the Dubai Air Show in November 2015 by the United Arab Emirates with an initial order for two systems. An additional order by the UAE for a third system was announced in 2017, followed by orders for two more systems in November 2019.

Saab’s new airborne early warning and control solution provides air, maritime and ground surveillance by combining Saab’s new Erieye Extended Range Radar and a range of additional advanced sensors which are installed on a Bombardier Global 6000 ultra-long range business jet.

The GlobalEye AEW&C offers over 11 hours of operational endurance.
