UAE defence manufacturer Calidus Holding Group is strengthening its presence in the Asia-Pacific defence market through a major display of integrated systems at the ongoing show. Calidus is seeking to expand its role as a new-generation supplier to meet the region’s evolving defence needs.
The UAE-based company is showcasing its capabilities within the UAE National Pavilion, where defence OEMs from the Gulf region are intensifying marketing and industry partnership efforts in Asia. Calidus is presenting multi-domain capabilities, covering land combat vehicles, missile systems, and aerial platforms. Its appearance in Bangkok is marking what the company describes as a significant step in its international outreach, helping build credibility and visibility among Asia-Pacific procurement officials and industry partners.
Central to the display are flagship platforms including the B-250 light attack aircraft and its B-250T trainer variant, intended for advanced pilot training and close air support missions. Calidus is also bringing a selection of armoured vehicles designed for a range of tactical roles: the Wahash infantry fighting vehicle, multiple MRAP types, the Barq multiple rocket launcher, and a reconnaissance-focused armoured platform optimised for border protection and critical infrastructure security. Scaled models, weapon integration configurations, and concept upgrades form a notable part of the narrative the company is presenting.
Defence & Security 2025 is widely regarded as a strategic gateway to the Indo-Pacific market. According to event organisers, more than 500 companies from 50 countries are participating, representing both established Western manufacturers and rapidly expanding Asian and Middle Eastern firms. For the UAE’s defence industry, the exhibition is not only about exports but also about strategic industry collaboration, production localisation, and technology transfer – all areas of strong interest to Southeast Asian procurement agencies looking to strengthen domestic industrial capability.
Calidus is positioning itself as a partner that can deliver both equipment and industrial participation opportunities. Its corporate messaging highlights investment in research and development, localised knowledge, and integrated production lines – aligning closely with national defence modernisation goals across ASEAN members. As regional armed forces evaluate new solutions driven by maritime security pressures, territorial surveillance, and modernisation of legacy inventories, the timing of Calidus’ engagement is deliberate and well aligned with defence-spending trends.
Industry analysts are observing the increasing presence of Gulf defence manufacturers in major Asian trade events as part of a broader shift: the rise of multipolar defence procurement. While traditional suppliers remain dominant in the region, militaries are now actively exploring diversified supply chains, competitive pricing options, and faster acquisition cycles from agile emerging suppliers.
The UAE’s Defence & Security 2025 pavilion, organised with support from ADNEC Group, underscores a nation-level push to enhance defence exports. For Asia-Pacific customers, this presents an expanding menu of partnership options beyond long-established sources in Europe, the United States, and Russia.
As the exhibition continues, stakeholders will be closely monitoring collaboration announcements, industrial MoUs, and procurement discussions that may emerge from the Bangkok event — potentially marking new territory for Calidus in the Indo-Pacific’s rapidly developing defence landscape.
