US Approves USD630 Million Munition Sales For RSAF’s F-15SG

The United States Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) released a notification to the U.S. Congress regarding its approval of munition sales to arm the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF)’s F-15SG combat jets, on Monday (25 July). The approval also covers follow-on training and sustainment, as well as related equipment for an estimated cost of USD630 million.

Among the approved items are 50 MK-84 2000 lb (907 kg) General Purpose (GP) bombs, 50 MK-82 500 lb (230 kg) GP bombs, and 625 Mk-82 inert bombs. In addition, 90 MXU-651 Air Foil Groups (AFGs), 90 MAU-169 or MAU-209 Computer Control Groups (CCGs) for GBU-10 2000LB Paveway II (PWII), 140 MXU-650 AFGs, 140 MAU-169 or MAU-209 CCGs for GBU-12 500LB PWII, 20 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) KMU-556 tail kits for GBU-31, 22 JDAM KMU-572 tail kits for GBU-54 Laser JDAM, 200 FMU-152 fuzes, and some other equipment are also listed in the notification.

The notification further noted that the proposed sale will enable the RSAF to continue its flight training program to develop mission-ready and experienced pilots to safely and effectively fly its F-15SG aircraft, as part of the Peace Carvin V Detachment Training Program. 

Under the fifth iteration of the Peace Carvin training program, the RSAF stationed a squadron of its F-15SG jets at Mountain Home Air Force Base (AFB), Idaho, the United States for 25 years, starting in 2009 until 2034.
