The Commander of the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Fleet, Adm. Samuel Paparo, recently made a visit to Thailand during which he visited the Royal Thai Navy’s RQ-21A Squadron 104 and Naval Special Warfare small boat unit.

The U.S. Navy formally handed over the RQ-21A Blackjack unmanned aircraft system to the Royal Thai Navy in May to enhance Thailand’s maritime security capabilities for search and rescue operations, and drug and human trafficking interdiction.

The UAS and small boat operations have further advanced the interoperability between the U.S Navy and the Royal Thai Navy.

The two navies recently participated together in CARAT Thailand and Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC).
