Estonian company Vegvisir has unveiled its new Vegvisir Virtual Command Station, at the ongoing IDEX. Vegvisir’s Virtual Command Station eliminates traditional command post screens and replaces them with a headset-based virtual display.
The innovative fleet management and command & control solution was developed in collaboration with the Estonian Defence Forces. “By adding fleet management capability, these three solutions form an innovative concept that equips commanders with the tools to navigate complex scenarios and make well-informed decisions on the battlefield,” said Vegvisir’s CEO Ingvar Pärnamäe.
The solution uses the Vegvisir Visor, an AR headset enabling commanders to access and interact with real-time battlefield data from multiple sources in a single view. They can observe maps, sensor feeds, and mission-critical updates in a shared virtual workspace for more efficient coordination. “We’re excited to introduce the Virtual Command Station to the market,” said Ingvar Pärnamäe.
“This system brings all the information commanders need into a single, immersive and collaborative interface, enabling faster, more informed decisions across various operational environments. The feedback we’ve received so far has been overwhelmingly positive, with particular praise for the innovation of our head-mounted displays. Testers have affirmed that there is no comparable solution available on the market. We believe this unique solution has great potential both for military as well as civilian use,” he added.
