Viking Looks at Malaysian Market

: Mar 26, 2019 - : 3:48 pm

Utility and amphibious aircraft manufacturer Viking Air is hopeful, that emerging Malaysian requirements would create a need for its Series 400 Twin Otter and Guardian 400 (military variant of the Series 400 Twin Otter) twin-engine turbo-prop aircraft. The airframer is promoting the two platforms at the ongoing LIMA.

“In addition, we are also promoting our CL-415EAF “Enhanced Aerial Firefighter” – a turbine conversion programme to modernize and further enhance the fire- fighting capabilities of the Canadair aerial firefighter,” the company’s spokesperson Angie Murray tells Daily News. “As the leader in 19-passenger, utility and amphibious aircraft, “we see great market potential for these aircraft in the SE Asia,” she adds.

The airframer is also offering its Guardian 400 as the most cost-effective, versatile and reliable maritime patrol & surveillance aircraft available on the market today. It features a robust airframe, versa- tile landing configurations (floats, wheels, and intermediate flotation gear), and flexible architecture for integrating special missions equipment based on operator requirements. As the OEM, Viking also pro- vided full product support to the Canadair CL-415MP amphibious aircraft, currently in use in Malaysia in support of coastal patrol operations.

Viking has several operators in the region who are successfully are operating its platforms including commercial 19-passenger regional commuter, maritime surveillance & patrol, special missions, critical infrastructure, and industrial support operations.
