Dror Bar Appointed as IAI Vice President and CEO of ELTA

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has appointed Dror Bar as the new Vice President and CEO of its subsidiary ELTA, following an extensive search process. The decision was unanimously made by ELTA’s board of directors, chaired by IAI’s CEO Boaz Levy, based on the recommendation from the search committee led by IAI Chairman Amir Peretz. Bar’s appointment is pending approval from the Appointments Review Committee, Israel’s Minister of Defence, and the Minister for Regional Cooperation. Until these approvals are secured, the appointment will be temporary.

Dror Bar, an electrical engineer with a master’s degree in business management, has been with IAI for 22 years. He currently leads the Air and Missile Defence Systems Division within IAI’s Systems Missiles and Space Group. Bar has achieved significant business, operational, and technological successes, both domestically and internationally. His previous roles include serving as chief engineer for an advanced radar system at ELTA and as a development engineer, bringing vital techno-operational expertise from his service in the Israel Air Force’s Active-Protection organisation.

IAI Chairman Amir Peretz expressed confidence in Bar’s ability to lead ELTA during challenging times: “I am certain that Dror has the experience, ability and skills required to lead ELTA into its next chapter and to hit its objectives with an emphasis on the current Swords of Iron War, at a time when Israel’s security challenges, including the need for detection and identification capabilities, are the most important element in protecting the citizens of our country.”

Boaz Levy, ELTA’s chairman and CEO of IAI, also conveyed his best wishes to Bar: “I would like to congratulate Dror Bar and wish him success in this important position and would like to thank Israel Lupa who has served as acting CEO until now. ELTA is both an IAI subsidiary and a group within IAI, and the appointment of Dror Bar to his new role is thus both a technological and business bridge for IAI enabling the development, realisation and supply of ELTA’s products as part of systems solutions for the entire company in space, in the air, at sea, on land, and in intelligence and cyber security.”

Both Peretz and Levy acknowledged the high calibre of candidates considered for the role and expressed their gratitude for their professionalism and contributions to the company’s ongoing success.
