BBN Airlines Indonesia, a new entrant in the country’s aviation sector, has officially commenced operations after receiving its Air Operation Certificate (AOC) for commercial passenger flights from the Indonesian Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Transportation, in March 2024. The airline, a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, began its commercial services on 27 September 2024 with an inaugural flight from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta to Juanda International Airport in Sidoarjo, East Java.

The airline has introduced a fleet consisting of three Boeing 737-800 aircraft for passenger charters and a mix of Boeing 737-800 and 737-400 cargo planes to serve both domestic and international routes. BBN Airlines Indonesia plans to expand its fleet to 40 aircraft by 2027.

Currently, the airline operates three domestic routes. The first route, between Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK) in Jakarta and Juanda Airport (SUB) in Surabaya, offers daily round-trip flights. Departures from Jakarta to Surabaya are scheduled for 17:20 WIB, with return flights from Surabaya at 19:35 WIB. Tickets for this route are priced at IDR 1.06 million, although prices vary depending on the booking date.

The second route, between Jakarta and Sepinggan Airport (BPN) in Balikpapan, has been operational since 30 September 2024. Flights depart daily from Jakarta at 10:45 WIB, while return flights from Balikpapan are scheduled for 15:15 WITA. Current ticket prices are IDR 1.5 million from Jakarta to Balikpapan and IDR 1.7 million for the return journey, with prices subject to fluctuations.

The third route, connecting Jakarta with I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport (DPS) in Denpasar, began on 2 October 2024. Flights from Jakarta depart at 07:10 WIB, with return flights from Denpasar at 11:10 WITA. Ticket prices for this route are currently IDR 1.4 million for the Jakarta-Denpasar leg and IDR 1.2 million for the return journey, with prices varying depending on the booking day.

With a focus on passenger and cargo services, BBN Airlines Indonesia is poised to expand its operations steadily in the coming years.
