Airbus Defence and Space together with NCS will establish a Centre of Excellence in Singapore for the research, development and the commercialisation of safe city solutions in Asia.

The centre will focus on technologies and solutions like data fusion and predictive analytics, video content analytics and crowd simulation. The aim is to support emergency services and improve the operations of government agencies by allowing data sharing, the companies said in a joint statement issued Tuesday, June 3, 2014.

“The establishment of the centre paves the way for a better, safer and smarter way of life for city dwellers,” said Mr. Johan Pelissier, managing director of Airbus Defence and Space in Singapore.

The two firms will also form related academic and research programmes with regional universities, government, private research and development laboratories to promote safe and smart city solutions through industry dialogues and thought leadership roundtables as well as white papers.
