Airbus Defence and Space has revealed its plans to acquire INFODAS, a Cologne-based company specialising in cybersecurity and IT solutions for the public sector, including defence and critical infrastructure. The acquisition, subject to customary regulatory approvals, is slated for completion by the end of 2024.
This strategic move reflects Airbus’ commitment to enhancing its cybersecurity portfolio to better serve its European and global customers. Given the escalating cyber threats and the growing digitalisation and connectivity of its products and systems, bolstering cybersecurity has become imperative for Airbus. In recent years, Airbus has expanded its cybersecurity capabilities and expertise to ensure robust protection for its products, operations, customers, and the wider ecosystem, including key initiatives such as the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).
INFODAS, with around 250 employees and annual revenues of approximately 50 million euros, operates from its headquarters in Cologne, with additional offices across Germany in Berlin, Bonn, Hamburg, Munich, and Mainz.
Certified by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as an IT security service provider, INFODAS is proficient in information system auditing, consulting, and penetration testing. Notably, the company’s SDoT Security Gateway product range is approved for classification levels up to secret and holds certifications compliant with Common Criteria standards and other country-specific regulations.
