: Feb 4, 2019 - : 5:42 am

American Airlines has taken delivery of the first of 100 A321neos on order from Airbus, powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines.

The aircraft, MSN8647, departed Hamburg for the trans-Atlantic ferry flight to Pittsburgh.

The aircraft touched down on Runway 28R at Pittsburgh International Airport on a cold, snowy day.

It will stay at the gate for a little while and then move to American Airlines’ Airbus maintenance facility for initial checks and additional installations.

American Airlines has chosen its Pittsburgh maintenance facility, a legacy of the US Airways presence here, as the location for the initial work.
