Aselsan, the largest defense electronics company in Turkey and among the top 50 defence contractors in the world, is attracting attention at the ongoing show by the depth and range of its products and capabilities.
Among the products that the defence major is showcasing at the Show include KORAL, a land-based radar electronic warfare system that jams and deceive enemy radars. The system comprises an Electronic Support and Electronic Attack System mounted on an 8×8 tactical truck. The company’s HEWS system is a fully integrated Electronic Warfare Self Protection Suit, developed to protect users from RF, IR and Laser guided threats.
Also on display is the ASELPOD targeting pod, an electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance and targeting system designed for fighter aircraft. Aselsan is also highlighting its Guidance Kit family, including the Laser Guidance Kit (LGK) and Precision Guidance Kit (HGK). The company’s Smart Rack, which can carry bombs, can be mounted on both UAVs and fighter jets.
The Korkut self propelled air defence gun system protects mobile combat units against various air threats. The system can be used against enemy helicopters, UAVs and ground attack aircraft. It is also capable of engaging air-to-ground missiles and cruise missiles. Also being showcased by the company is the multi-function AESA Air surveillance radar system and the Karetta anti-jam GNSS..
“Our products have been exported to as many as 84 countries,” a company official said. “We are a global company that produces everything in-house. We have sold our systems all over the world, but our primary markets remain the Middle East, Asia and Africa.”
