CAE and Air Europa have extended their long-term pilot training contract for five more years, the two companies announced at the 2019 International Paris Air Show on Monday. Under the terms of the contract, Air Europa's Airbus A330 and Boeing 787 pilots will train at various CAE European training centres including CAE Madrid, CAE Rome and CAE Gatwick. “Our innovative training technology and full-flight simulators are the best tools available for Air Europa’s pilot training needs,” said Nick Leontidis, CAE’s Group President, Civil Aviation Training Solutions. “We are happy to continue supporting the airline, are honored that they continue to put their trust in CAE, and we look forward to our future together.” “Last year, Air Europa carried 11.5 million passengers, making it the second largest Spanish airline,” said Andrés Bello, Chief Operating Officer, Air Europa. “We are committed to our customers and quality service. Partnering with CAE for another five years was natural for us, and we look forward to our pilots training on state-of-the-art full-flight simulators in Europe.” Air Europa, founded over thirty years ago, has been a CAE customer for almost 15 years. CAE operates Air Europa’s training centre in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and has an agreement to provide the airline with its future A330 pilots. The carrier’s fleet includes the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Airbus A330, Boeing 737-800 and Embraer 195.
