Flight Recorders Retrieved From Nepal Air Crash Site

The flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder from the ill-fated Yeti Airlines ATR-72 regional transport aircraft has been retrieved. The Associated Press, quoted spokespersons from Nepal’s Civil Aviation authority and Yeti Airlines who confirmed the retrieval of the recorders, which will provide accident investigators with important information on the cause of the fatal air crash on Sunday.

The crash is Nepal’s deadliest air accident with a total of 72 casualties. They were 72 passengers and four crew members aboard the ATR 72-500 aircraft (9N ANC).

The aircraft was flying from the Nepal’s capital Kathmandu to Pokhara, which is a distance of approximately 200km.

ATR the aircraft’s manufacturer, said that it had been informed that of the accident that occurred in Nepal involving an ATR 72-500. “The ATR specialists are fully engaged to support both the investigation and the customer.”
