Moldova’s FlyOne intends to open a new route to the UK later this month. The carrier has added four new destinations to its network in 2021.
The carrier will begin service between its home hub Chisinau (KIV) and London Luton (LTN) on May 28. There will be four flights every week between the capital cities, with the airline using Airbus A320s for the flights.
The fights will depart KIV at 8:30 p.m. and arrive in LTN at 9:30 p.m. The return leg will depart at 10:20 p.m. and arrive back in Moldova’s capital at 3:30 a.m.
This isn’t the first time FlyOne will be serving the London market. The carrier had previously operated two roundtrips per week to London Southend (SEN), The new route would mainly target VFR and leisure traffic.
On the KIV-LTN sector, FlyOne will face competition from Wizz Air UK, which currently offers daily service between the destinations. According to reports, Wizz has plans to increase frequencies to 12 times a week by early July.
FlyOne began flights from KIV to Istanbul (IST) in Turkey on May 1. It also has plans to add a route to Batumi (BUS) in Georgia from June 4 and to Eindhoven (EIN) in the Netherlands from June 20.
