Malaysia’s Global Turbine Asia Sdn Bhd (GTA) will serve as the authorised maintenance organisation for Europrop International (EPI), the original equipment manufacturer of the TP400-D6 engine used in the Royal Malaysian Air Force’s (RMAF) Airbus A400M Atlas airlifter.

The two companies inked a LOA at the ongoing LIMA.

Under the terms of the three year contract, GTA will support 19 TP400-D6 engines used by the RMAF.

This is the first such agreement for TP400-D6 engine maintenance outside Europe.

In a release, GTA stated that this was the first and only time that EPI has relied on a foreign third party to carry out maintenance activities on the TP400 engine.

GTA will perform Level and Level 2 (on-base) maintenance on TP400-D6 engines, the highest attainable outside an OEM workshop.
