: Jan 31, 2014 - : 11:36 pm

Following Emirates big order at Dubai, Airbus A380 fans can cheer a bit more as the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation has approved the operations of the Airbus A380 in India.

The Minister for Civil Aviation, Shri Ajit Singh has at last removed restrictions on A380 flights to India. At present only Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore have suitable facilities, but there will no doubt be a spate of new schedules from the Middle East as a result.

“This is good news for Indian airports and the Indian flying public,” said Dr. Kiran Rao, Airbus EVP Strategy and Marketing. However, the minister warned that all airports have to be DGCA certified and “make adequate preparation” before operations are allowed.
