Latest A321 Added to Vietjet’s Modern Fleet

: Apr 2, 2018 - : 4:24 am

Vietjet received its latest A321, with the new aircraft featuring the official logo marking the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-France’s diplomatic relations.

The ceremony took place in Paris in the presence of Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam on his official State visit to France.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietjet’s Managing Director Luu Duc Khanh said, “It is a great honour to see our aircraft with the official logo for the 45th anniversary and this is a meaningful tribute that acknowledges Vietjet’s continual efforts to introduce Vietnam to the international community.”

The newly added A321 aircraft is the 43rd of a total of 121 aircraft that Vietjet has ordered from Airbus. The aircraft boasts a wide cabin that will allow maximum passenger comfort onboard. The new addition to Vietjet’s expanding fleet will allow the airline to pursue its strategy to improve its services and expand its operations to destinations in South Korea, Japan, India and Australia.

The official logo for the 45th anniversary was unveiled by the French Embassy in Hanoi on 24 January 2018. The logo features the image of a Vietnamese woman wearing a nón lá (palm-leaf conical hat) and a red áo dài (a traditional silk dress) holding hands with a French woman wearing a beret and a white blue plaid dress. The logo highlights the friendship and deep understanding between the two countries.

While in France, Vietjet has also signed a comprehensive agreement with Safran – CFM on supplying 321 engines to power the airlines’ 148 aircraft, fleet management services, training, R&D programs and technical management. Safran – CFM will also help the airline develop regional level support maintenance capabilities. The airline inked a finance agreement with GECAS France on purchasing and leasing six A321 Neo aircraft.
