Mobil Jet Oil 387 Used in First Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner

: May 4, 2018 - : 10:37 pm

The first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, the newest and largest addition to the 787 family, has been converted to Mobil Jet Oil 387, following its  delivery to Singapore Airlines in March this year.

The converted components include the aircraft’s Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engines as well as its UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) variable frequency starter generators (VFSGs). Mobil Jet Oil 387 was approved for use in UTAS VFSGs in late 2017 and Singapore Airlines is the first commercial fleet to use the product.

In 2017, ExxonMobil announced the use of Mobil Jet Oil 387 across the entire Singapore Airlines’ fleet, which includes a range of Airbus and Boeing wide-body models. As a result, the remaining 48 Boeing 787-10’s scheduled for delivery to Singapore Airlines are also confirmed to use Mobil Jet Oil 387.

Mobil Jet Oil 387, the most advanced turbine engine oil ExxonMobil has produced, meets demanding industry specifications, including SAE AS5780 High Performance Capability and U.S. Military Specification MIL-PRF-23699-HTS.  It is also approved for use by engine manufacturers in a wide range of models and components.
