Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi formally inaugurated the first International Defence and Security Industry Exhibition “EDEX-2018”. President Sisi inspected the exhibition and the Egyptian pavilion, and keenly observed the equipment on display.
The inauguration was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Minister of Defence and Military Production Mohamed Zaki, as well as many other officials. “The establishment of the exhibition confirms Egypt’s position as a leading and effective country with the capacity to organize such high international military activities, which strengthens the role played by Egypt in the region and confirms its contribution to regional and international security and stability,” the President says.
Over 10 defence ministries from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Sudan, France, Greece, Cyprus, South Sudan, Cameroon, Somalia and South Korea are attending the exhibition. Expressing deep appreciation of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi for sponsoring the first International Defence and Security Industry Exhibition in North and Central Africa, the defence minister said President Sisi’s sponsorship of this exhibition aims at delivering a message to the world that the defence and armament systems are the main pillars of peace and security and the fortress of stability for nations and peoples.
