Qatar to Fly Dreamliner to Prague

: Aug 14, 2018 - : 3:54 am

Qatar Airways confirmed that it will start regular Dreamliner service from Václav Havel Airport Prague from October 28, 2018, from Prague to Doha.

It is being taken as an effort to increase the overall capacity by about 46 per cent. The daily afternoon flight to Doha, the capital of Qatar, will use a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with a capacity of 254 passengers.

“We have been monitoring the potential for using a larger aircraft on Qatar Airways route to Doha for a long time. We are therefore pleased that the airline leadership has decided to take the step with one of their daily routes using one of the most advanced aircraft in the world, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner,” Václav Řehoř, chairman of the board of directors of Prague Airport, said in a press release.

“Qatar Airways will become the first operator of this type of aircraft on regular daily routes from Prague. The larger aircraft will also increase the capacity on the route by almost half, which means that even more Czech passengers will be able to use the convenient air link not only in the Middle East but also further to the destinations in Asia and Australia,” he added.

The morning flight from Prague will continue with an Airbus A320 with capacity for 132 passengers. Both aircraft will offer passengers an economy and business class.

With the increased capacity, the two aircraft together are expected to carry about 75,000 passengers in both directions for one year.

Qatar Airways began a direct link between Prague and Doha on August 21, 2017. The increase to two daily flights occurred after almost four months of operation in December of last year.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner service leave Prague at 4:10 pm and arrives in Doha just after midnight at 12:10 am. The return Boeing 787 service leaves Doha at 8 am and arrives in Prague at 12:25 pm.
