Rheinmetall House in Bristol, UK, has officially opened as the new headquarters for Vehicle Systems International (VSI), following its recent acquisition. Andy Start, the Chief Executive Officer of Defence Equipment & Support, officiated the opening ceremony.
This represents an important milestone for Rheinmetall as it established its first divisional headquarters outside of Germany. The VSI headquarters will serve the UK, North American, and Asia-Pacific markets, aiming to provide tailored support to global customers and foster international cooperation. Rheinmetall House features a Collaboration and Innovation Centre (CIC), promoting collaboration and innovation to drive technological advancements and enhance capabilities for future battlefield scenarios.
The CIC acts as a hub for developing concepts and integrating technologies into platforms, thereby reducing development time and risk. This approach to Digital Engineering is expected to expedite technology delivery to the field.
Rheinmetall House strengthens the company’s presence across the UK, complementing existing locations in London, Telford, Newcastle, Bovington, and the Isle of Wight. It consolidates expertise in various areas, including weapons and munitions, tactical and logistics vehicles, and joint ventures such as RBSL.
During the launch event, attendees explored the Collaboration and Innovation Centre and witnessed demonstrations of innovative technologies. Exhibits included the BRIDGE future mission module, the Caracal Light Mobility Vehicle, the Mission Master, and the Luna NG, showcasing potential advancements in mission capabilities and electronic architectures.
Rheinmetall House serves as a strategic base for the company’s UK operations, facilitating continued engagement with customers and stakeholders while supporting ongoing collaboration within the VSI division.
