Russian Air Force Expansion Continues

The Russian Aerospace Forces will receive more than 100 aircraft in 2019, the country’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced.

The new aircraft will continue the expansion effort which saw more than 100 new pieces of military being inducted into the air force last year, which include : Su-35S and Su-30SM multi-role fighters, Su-34 bombers that first entered the Central Military District air regiment in Ural, Ka-52 attack helicopters, Mi-8 transport combat helicopters of various modifications, Yak-130 combat training aircraft and many other types.

Russian air force pilots are now also flying more hours on their aircraft, with the MoD stating that the average flight time for each pilot is more than 100 hours per year.
