Singapore Airlines (SIA) will add a fourth daily service to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport in December 2018, to meet growing travel demand between Singapore and Japan.
The additional flight to Haneda Airport will increase SIA’s daily services to the Japanese capital, including two daily flights to Narita Airport, to six per day, up from the current five.
The fourth daily Haneda service will be introduced with effect from 28 December 2018. Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will be operated, adding over 1,800 seats per week on the route.
Flight SQ630 will depart Singapore at 1725hrs and arrive at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport at 0100hrs. The new SQ639 return flight will depart Tokyo’s Haneda Airport at 0230 hrs and arrive in Singapore at 0915hrs.
Singapore Airlines will also operate the world’s largest commercial aircraft, the Airbus A380, to Osaka daily from 28 October 2018 to 30 March 2019.
Flight SQ618 will depart Singapore at 0130hrs and arrive in Osaka at 0845hrs. The return flight SQ619 will depart Osaka at 1100hrs and arrive in Singapore at 1710hrs. SIA’s A380 service will add over 720 seats per week on the Singapore- Osaka route.
SIA currently operates two daily services on the Singapore-Osaka route, both of which are currently operated by its new Boeing 787-10 aircraft that feature the Airline’s recently launched regional cabin products.
In addition to Osaka and Tokyo, Singapore Airlines operates a daily service to both Fukuoka and Nagoya. Its regional subsidiary, SilkAir, operates three weekly services to Hiroshima. SIA’s low-cost subsidiary, Scoot, operates 11 weekly services to Osaka, four weekly services to Sapporo and 17 weekly services to Tokyo’s Narita Airport. With the new service to Haneda Airport, the SIA Group will operate a combined 105 weekly services between Singapore and Japan.
The new flights are subject to regulatory approvals. Tickets will be made available for sale progressively through the various distribution channels.
