SpiceJet Operates Maiden Long-Haul Charter Flight

Indian Low Cost Carrier, SpiceJet, recently completed its maiden long-haul charter flight from Amsterdam to Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

SpiceJet chartered a wide-body A330-900 Neo aircraft from Hi Fly for its first-ever long-haul flight.

The twin-aisle A330 aircraft used by SpiceJet has a configuration of 353 economy and 18 business class seats.

“SpiceJet is immensely proud to operate its maiden long-haul repatriation flight from Amsterdam to India and bring back home our fellow Indian nationals. This is a historic moment for SpiceJet and Indian aviation,” said Ajay Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, SpiceJet.

This global pandemic has taught us many things and given us an opportunity to show our true potential. SpiceJet emerged as the No.1 Cargo Company in India during the pandemic. We have successfully repatriated over 75,000 Indian citizens operating more than 450 charter flights from different parts of the world. This repatriation flight from Amsterdam is another feather in our cap and we hope to do many more such flights in the coming days.”

SpiceJet currently has a fleet of 74 Boeing 737, 29 Bombardier Q-400s, eight B737 & Bombardier Q-400 freighters and is presently operating 49 daily flights under UDAN or the Regional Connectivity Scheme.
