The US has imposed an unofficial arms embargo on Turkey after Ankara decided to purchase S-400 surface–air missiles from Russia. In recent months Washington has made huge efforts to persuade Turkey to cancel the deal.

The US is concerned that when Turkey tries to link the Russian anti-aircraft systems with the American F-35s, it ordered, Russian hackers will penetrate the F-35 systems and expose ultra-secret technologies.

The US has asked some NATO member to put pressure on Turkey to cancel the deal with the Russians, but Turkey refuses to do so.

Israeli sources said that it is very weird that a NATO member purchases a major systems like the S-400 that cannot “Talk “with equivalent systems of NATO forces.

In the meantime, the Trump administration has imposed an unofficial arms embargo on Turkey.

The embargo included the sale of spare parts for American weapons systems used by the Turkish defence forces.

Middle Eastern sources say that Turkey has recently approached a third party in an attempt to obtain spare parts for their F-16C / D aircraft, which they cannot manufacture in their own country.

In parallel , the US is not transferring the Lockheed Martin F-35 to Turkey.

In recent months Turkey has made some moves that put in big doubt the value of this country membership in NATO.

It seems that Turkey de facto has long deserted its obligation to the organization.

The odd actions of Turkey in the context of NATO is long. The last one is another prove to the odd situation.

If Turkey receives the S-400 the system will not have the capability to work with NATO members surface – air systems.
